What Aaron Has to Say

Why do you work for Body Gears?

Because I love what we stand for at Body Gears and how our type of physical therapy can change lives. It’s one-on-one, it’s hands-on, and it’s about getting you back to the things you care about.

Which patients are your favorite to work with?

Anyone who is motivated and wants to push the bar. I had the opportunity to work with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and other top athletes at Bollettieri Sports Medicine Center. Elite athletes are always motivated tachieve optimal levels of function, but I have also found that same level of motivation in some of my non-athlete patients as well.

What catchphrase do most of your patients remember you by?

What are you having for dinner?

Tell me about your PT school experience.

am a huge dork! I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine and I studied most of the time but did meet my amazing wife, so I loved school and still miss it to this day.

What certifications do you have?

I am a Certified Functional Manual Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer. I am also certified to implement the Functional Movement Screen and the Graston Technique® for soft tissue therapywould like to gain certification from the Postural Restoration Institute next.

What aspect of movement do you find the most fascinating?

The beautiful integration of mechanical, neuromuscularand motor control that allows humans to perform amazing feats.

How do you stay active?

Yoga, surfingsoccer, runningcycling, and lifting weights. I also enjoy disc golf and regular golf.

Dr. Snyder is brilliant!! Finally, some logical answers to why my left foot is swollen!!”

What Patients Have to Say About Aaron

As a physician who is also very active in sports personally, I both send many patients to physical therapy, and go to physical therapy myself, frequently.  Aaron is definitely the best physical therapist I have ever met.  I injured my back last summer, and I was referred to a physical therapy center that gave me some generic exercises on a xeroxed sheet.  At Body GearsAaron instantly recognized the movement pattern that had led to my injury, and then gave me exercises to change that movement pattern so I would not only get better but not injure myself again!

Instead of a xeroxed sheet, I received videos of my prescribed exercises, which were a huge improvement.  Along the way, an old injury cropped up.  In less than a minute Aaron diagnosed what was causing the problem and taught me what I could do to prevent its recurrence.  That was 4 months ago, I’m back exercising as much as ever, and I’m feeling great.  I’m sure I’ll need PT again at some point, and when I do I’ll definitely be going back to see Aaron.  I’ll also be referring as many patients whose insurance allows them to go to Body Gears

What Patients Have to Say About Aaron

I went into Body Gears because I heard that their philosophy is one of optimizing physical performance, rather than just getting to a passable degree of function. Aaron took my whole body into account during his assessments. He helped my knees and then went further to look at my ankles and pelvic alignment to try to keep my joints strong and supported. I was very impressed with the individual time and attention that he was able to give during my appointment times. He developed a plan of care that was very individualized and thorough. He gave me a good set of exercises that I could do at home. He spent the time to answer all my questions and provided me with a lot of good information.

What Patients Have to Say About Aaron

GREAT FOR RUNNERS! AARON SNYDER IS A WIZARD! I had a true 5-star experience at Body Gears and highly recommend. My story: Was training for a marathon and experienced unusual lower leg pain that my podiatrist and another physical therapist struggled to understand. During my first session with Aaron, he diagnosed it rather quickly after a full assessment of my feet, legs, walking style, running stride, etc. Not only did he effectively reduce the immediate pain, but he also prescribed permanent changes to my running form that have eliminated recurrence of the injury (it had been a repeat offender for me).

Best of all, his guidance and help made me into a better runner. He prescribed other exercises and posture changes that improved my physical abilities across the board. The changes were so rapid and so effective that I was able to take 14 full minutes off my marathon PR. Coming to Body Gears and working with Aaron have been the best things to help my running after many years of trying to improve and meet higher goals.”

What Patients Have to Say About Aaron

This review would be 6 stars if that was available!  I started having issues with my shoulders and just tried to play through it (like I did when I was younger).  That didn’t quite work as planned, and the pain started to get worse and ended up impacting my range of motion on a day to day basis.  It finally got to the point where I did some research and looked for some options, and ultimately ended up at Body Gears, and with Aaron Snyder.

From my initial visit with Aaron, he recognized and explained what he thought was causing my pain and limited range of motion and went to work (which is when the magic happened). My expectations at the beginning were that I was going to be happy if I could get back most of my range of motion and if the pain would’ve gone down from an 8 to a 3. He blew through these expectations out of the water, and I started feeling and seeing improvements after the 1st visit!!  I now have a better range of motion than I had before I started playing baseball, and I’m pain-free!  Beyond that, Aaron and his team have taken the time to help me not only feel better now but has worked with me to re-train my body on how I do everyday movements that will help me move properly so I can strength myself and stay pain-free. The way this experience has gone, I have and will continue to recommended seeing Aaron and going to Body Gears to my friends and family!”

What Patients Have to Say About Aaron

“By far the best Physical Therapy in San Diego!

Where other PT clinics spend minimal time on manipulation before moving you on to the techs for exercises, my therapist at Body Gears, Aaron, spent most of the appointment times diagnosing the cause of my shoulder issue, manipulating to alleviate the issue (all the while explaining what he was doing) and then devising an exercise program to help the fixes stick.

Definitely improved the quality of my life!
