Dr. Alexandra Anderson, PT, DPT

Body Gears Physical Therapy is excited to welcome Alexandra Anderson, PT, DPT as of June 2017. As a former USCAA soccer and softball player and competitor in many other sports, Alex is passionate about the prevention and treatment of orthopedic and sports related injuries. While in undergraduate school, she worked as a trainer for collegiate athletic teams, which provided a wide range of exposure and treatment opportunities of orthopedic and neurologic injuries and served as an excellent entry into sports medicine.

Additionally, Alex has worked in Washington, DC for the past 2 years, treating many endurance athletes, especially cyclists and runners. There, she developed a strong interest in analyzing movement as it relates to endurance sports and specializes in running assessments. She has used her training in Trigger Point Dry Needling, Active Release Technique, Functional Movement Screening and TRX suspension training to assist in correcting muscle imbalances and movement dysfunctions.

Alex graduated with her Bachelors’ Degree in Health Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in Southern California. She is excited to continue her education as a Fellow in Training at UIC, while working at our downtown clinic.
