Dr. Autumn Neuharth, PT, DPT

Autumn Neuharth graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Movement Science and moved to New York for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University. Throughout the course of her education, Autumn gained experience in a variety of settings, ranging from outpatient orthopedic clinics with a focus on manual therapy and athletic injuries to a large brain injury rehabilitation center. Autumn is coming to Body Gears from New York City, where she worked at an outpatient orthopedic clinic and was an active member and mobility instructor at her local CrossFit gym.

Autumn is fascinated by physical therapy’s complex marriage of science and art. Her continuing education includes courses on manual therapy and chronic pain from the Institute of Physical Art, assisting research studying the effects of exercise on people with Parkinson’s disease, and more than a decade of personal experience with strength and conditioning including CrossFit and sport-specific fitness. Autumn played competitive rugby for most of her adult life, starting as an All-American at the University of Michigan and continuing in New York playing for the Women’s Premier League, the USA’s highest level of women’s rugby.

When Autumn’s not working, you can find her at the CrossFit box or outdoors being active. Although she has hung up the rugby cleats, she finds joy being outside by hiking, mountain biking, running, or just moving any way she can in beautiful nature! When Autumn is sitting still, she loves good food and good beer along with reading the occasional non-physical therapy-related book.
