Dr. Erica S. Burhop, PT, DPT, OCS, Women's Health Therapist - Clinic Manager

Dr. Erica Burhop earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. She continued on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marquette in 2012, with an extra focus on neurological rehabilitation. After graduation, Erica moved to the East Coast to work at a rehabilitation hospital specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. During that time, she spent time working alongside a foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon maximizing pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation.

Since joining the Body Gears team in 2015, Erica continues to pursue excellence in every facet of her the physical therapy profession. She completed the Functional Manual Therapy® Orthopedic Residency through the Institute of Physical Art, as well as being awarded the distinction of Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists in early 2017.  She has also broadened her scope of practice to include Women’s Health and is an advocate for pre-natal and postpartum physical therapy services, specifically our Wiggle Room and Humpty Dumpty programs. She has also completed Functional Dry Needling certification to improve patient outcomes and a healthy return to activity.

Erica grew up swimming (more than she’d like to admit) in the competitive Chicagoland club swimming circuit, and she continues to support club swimming through her niece and nephew. In her free time, she can be found running, trying new and exhilarating activities like trapeze, and reacquainting herself with the city she can finally call “home” again.
