Dr. Esther Kim, PT, DPT, Women's Health Therapist

As a young girl, Esther was always interested in sports and exercise whether it be participating or watching. Her love for sports and exercise as well as her desire to help people led her to a career in Physical Therapy.

In 2012, Esther earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Movement Science from University of Illinois in Chicago. She ventured out to Roanoke, Virginia to continue her education at Radford University where received her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2016. During her schooling, she began her interests in manual therapy which prompted her in taking a manipulation course to broaden her skill set.

She sought out Body Gears Physical Therapy as one of her internships to continue expanding her knowledge base. Esther studied under Dr. Erica Burhop, PT, DPT and other members of the Body Gears Team where she learned the importance of improving mobility and neuromuscular activation during functional movements to facilitate efficient motor control. She fell in love with the Body Gears Philosophy as well as the Institute of Physical Art approach. She had such a positive experience that she joined the Body Gears Team in St. Louis, MO.

“When patients come back overjoyed from the improvements in pain and the benefits of the exercises provided, I get overjoyed knowing they learned to take control of their pain instead of letting it overcome them.”

During her free time, Esther enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, biking, snowboarding, and playing recreational volleyball and basketball. She also loves to relax at home and play her bass and acoustic guitar.
