Dr. Kane Thompson, PT, DPT, ATC

Kane received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in Downer’s Grove, IL in May of 2015. Prior to his graduation, he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training from North Central College. Kane worked with the college’s men and women’s athletic teams while obtaining his degree, and he was a four year Varsity Letterman on the school’s football team. He is excited to join the BodyGears team and work alongside some of the top manual physical therapists in the country. He plans to seek as many opportunities as possible to further his education and hopes to earn his Certification in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT). Through Kane’s opportunity to join BodyGears team, he is excited to improve his functional manual therapy skills and further establish himself within this diverse field of physical therapy.

Kane is originally from a small town south of the Quad Cities (Aledo, IL). At an early age he became fascinated with athletics and participated in football, basketball, baseball, and track growing up. He took special interest into the stresses the human body endured through athletics. After experiencing a few athletic injuries of his own, he received his first bout of Physical Therapy. This early experience sparked his interest and later compassion for physical therapy.  He anticipated helping patient’s undergoing injury and surgeries of their own to reach their fullest potential and return to their highest level of function. Now, at BodyGears he is able to help similar patients on a daily basis. He believes, “The human body is a fascinating concept that is a miracle in itself.” Kane considers being hands on with his patients and applying function into his/her treatment is the best method to treat each patient’s ailments.

Kane has spent his last 8 to 9 years in the DuPage county area. Apart from being an avid sports fan for all Chicago teams (Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks and the Bulls), Kane likes staying active with running, hiking, traveling, and biking outdoors while navigating different nearby trails. He also enjoys spending time with his family (including spoiling his niece and nephew) and friends, especially when it involves listening to country music and grilling out.
