Dr. Lindsay Jana, PT, DPT, Women's Health Therapist

After three years of living in Brooklyn, NY, Lindsay returned to her Chicagoland origins specifically to work alongside some of the nation’s most elite manual therapists in the patient-driven and collaborative environment of Body Gears Physical Therapy. She is excited to further advance her techniques by pursuing specialized certification in Functional Manual Therapy™.

In 2012, Lindsay earned her bachelor’s degree with a double major in psychology and human services from Loyola University Chicago. She continued on to attain her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Long Island University in Brooklyn. While in school, Lindsay honed her manual therapy skills by taking several courses with the Institute of Physical Art, where she quickly realized that training in Functional Manual Therapy™ would boost her skillset far beyond entry level.

Lindsay completed a school internship at Body Gears, where she studied under Rebecca Johnson and other members of the Body Gears team. She gained experience with a variety of patients, from people with complex orthopedic and neurological diagnoses to athletes wanting to improve in their sport. During this experience, she saw firsthand the transformative effect that Functional Manual Therapy™ can have for patients who had previously been resigned to a life of pain and movement dysfunction. Lindsay explains, “Improving physical functioning creates a ripple effect that enhances other aspects of people’s lives by allowing them to return to the activities that they value most.”

In her free time, Lindsay stays active with hiking, kayaking, bicycling, autocross, practicing hot yoga, and pursuing other activities that enhance her understanding of the body’s movement. She is a Chicago sports fanatic. When she wants to relax, Lindsay enjoys cooking healthy meals and spending time with her family.
