Dr. Mason West, PT, DPT

Mason earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in Florida following his Masters in Kinesiology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Mason also has a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience from Trinity College and was a two-sport athlete there for 3 years until sustaining an injury during his Junior year. Mason plans to continue his education and earn his Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) and Sports Certified Specialization (SCS) in the near future.

Growing up in a northern suburb of Chicago (Northbrook, IL), his passion for athletics began at an early age. Mason was a 12-season athlete during high school, participating in football, wrestling, and lacrosse. His senior year, he was named the captain for all three sports and was honored to be awarded Male Athlete of the Year. He continued his athletic pursuits in college, participating in wrestling and lacrosse but suffered an ACL tear which changed his career trajectory. While undergoing physical therapy, Mason found a perfect marriage between science and sport and has since committed his life to helping others to heal. Mason’s passion is returning people to the activities that they love. He believes that success in physical therapy is measured by the ability of the patient to be functional in all aspects of their life.

Mason continues to participate in a variety of sports as well as hiking, CrossFit, America Ninja Warrior-style obstacle training, and coaching. If he’s not playing sports, then he’s watching sports and is a huge Bulls, Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks fan. Mason enjoys spending time with his two dogs and his family, especially if a board game is involved.
