Dr. Robert ‘Kit’ Durban, PT, DPT, ATC

Even from a young age, Kit enjoyed watching and playing sports and he often found himself more intrigued by the injuries of the players he watched and played with. This lead him down the path of sports medicine and athletic training where he found he had a passion for helping people heal and reach their goals whether they are athletes or not.

Prior to joining the Body Gears team, Kit graduated from Boston University’s combined Athletic Training and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. While completing his DPT, Kit practiced as an athletic trainer and has experience ranging from middle school sports to Division I collegiate athletics.  This includes clinical affiliations with Northeastern and Harvard Universities’ Men’s Ice Hockey programs and Boston University ROTC. Kit returns to Body Gears after he was lucky enough to be placed at the downtown Chicago location for a clinical rotation during his DPT education – he liked the excellent, one-on-one, hands-on manual therapy care so much that he had to come back! He has also has taken manual therapy continuing education courses through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and he is looking forward to continuing his growth as a manual therapist at Body Gears.
Outside of Physical Therapy, Kit is an avid soccer player (goalkeeper) and fan, supporting Chelsea in the English Premier League. He is enjoying exploring his new city, and loves Chicago dogs (Weiner Circle is his favorite so far but, he is open to suggestions).
