Dr. Sarah McGinn, PT, DPT, Women's Health Therapist

Dr. Sarah McGinn’s interest in physical therapy began at an early age, stemming from both her grandmother and aunt’s careers as physical therapists. Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, Pre-Physical Therapy from Carthage College. She participated in both volleyball and softball at the NCAA Division III Collegiate level. While in school, Sarah also had the opportunity to study abroad in Nicaragua, working at various medical clinics on Ometepe Island.

Following her undergraduate coursework, Sarah traveled to the east coast to attend New York Institute of Technology, earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Sarah returned home to complete an internship with Body Gears Physical Therapy, studying under Dr. Meghan Simonetti, Dr. Kate McKechnie and other members of the Body Gears Team. It was during this internship that Sarah developed an excitement and appreciation for Functional Manual TherapyTMSarah jumped on the opportunity to join the Body Gears team in Winnetka, enthusiastic about an environment focused on patient-first care and a collaborative treatment approach.

“Having the ability to provide my patients with the knowledge and tools to return to their functional goals is the ultimate privilege as a physical therapist.”

Sarah has a special interest in community outreach, including having volunteered with the Medical Team at the finish line for the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon. She also develops monthly newsletters for the non-for-profit group Move Together. In her free time, Sarah enjoys playing volleyball, trying new restaurants and playing with her yellow lab named Murphy.
