Joanne Macza, PT, OCS, CERT. MDT, CKTP, Women's Health Therapist - Clinic Manager

Joanne obtained her Bachelors in Physical Therapy and Bachelors in Physical Education from the University of Saskatchewan. She began her physical therapy career in outpatient and sports medicine clinics in Vancouver and Montreal. In 2001 she relocated to the United States and began working in an outpatient and sports medicine center in New Jersey. Shortly thereafter she focused her career on treating Broadway show performers and dancers, which she has done for the last 12 years. During that time she also worked in a Manhattan clinic where she became hooked on the IPA approach to physical therapy. Once she decided to relocate to Chicago, she knew exactly where she wanted to continue to learn and expand her knowledge on the IPA approach, at Body Gears. After practicing for the last 19 years she has attended an extensive number of continuing education courses and has also received her certification in McKenzie and an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification.

April Oury, owner of Body Gears says, “Joanne’s extensive expertise on treating dancers, translates well to all populations. She is able to pick out minute dysfunctions that many therapist often miss.  Joanne also has a strong ability to correlate Pilate’s movements into manual therapy.”
