Michael is a graduate of The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA, and after relocating to Chicago in the Spring of 2014 to work with Body Gears, he returns to San Diego to continue working in his native Southern California. In the spring of 2013, he was exposed to Body Gears Physical Therapy, as well as the techniques and treatments of the Institute of Physical Art. This exposure led him to explore more about becoming a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT), to which he completed the necessary coursework and mentorship and passed with Honors to become certified in August of 2016.
Prior to obtaining his Doctorate from St. Augustine, Michael received his B.S. in Kinesiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. It was here that he realized that becoming a physical therapist was what he wanted to do. “Growing up with a sports background, that included baseball, golf, and playing Division 1 football throughout college, I knew I wanted to be involved in a profession that dealt with the intricacies of the human body as well as helping others return from injuries as soon as possible, as I had seen from several teammates over the years.”
Michael hopes to bring his background of sports, along with his education from a heavily based manual therapy institution, to Body Gears PT. He strives to develop a rapport with his patients that allow them to have fun when coming to PT, while ultimately returning them to prime functioning in life.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys playing golf, working out, and exploring new activities in sunny San Diego.
