Body Gears Welcomes Two Practitioners to its Winnetka Location

Body Gears Physical Therapy is pleased to announce that Dr. Meghan Simonetti, PT, DPT and Ankit Patel, MS, PT, have joined its staff and will be working at the Winnetka Body Gears located at 544 N. Lincoln Avenue.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Meghan and Ankit aboard during this exciting period of growth for Body Gears Physical Therapy,” says April Oury, PT MS, IOC, CFMT, FAAOMPT, president of Body Gears Physical Therapy. “Meghan and Ankit are very accomplished, but equally important, they reflect our values and share our passion for learning and our commitment to continuing education.”

Dr. Meghan Simonetti, PT, DPT

Dr. Simonetti received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, where she also earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration. While studying at Rosalind Franklin, Dr. Simonetti received the College of Health Professions Leadership Award, the University Israel Light Leadership Award, and she was also a member of the National Honors Society.

Dr. Simonetti embraces the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) vision to transform society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience. She is very active within APTA and currently holds five national leadership positions. She enjoys engaging in the community for health and wellness education, prevention activities, and Functional Movement System screens.

Ankit Patel, MS, PT

Patel earned his physical therapist degree in 2008 from the highly acclaimed Gandhi University of Health Science in India. He completed his post-graduate work at Minnesota State University in Mankato earning his Master of Science (MS) in Exercise Physiology. He was introduced to Functional Manual Therapy™ (FMT) in his final year of study and learned various techniques including Mulligan, Maitland, McKenzie and Paris.

His recent move to Chicago allowed Patel to combine his passion for FMT with his desire to work with a talented, collaborative and education-centric physical therapy practice, while pursuing his FMT certification.
