Success Story Saturday
Body Part: Knee
Diagnosis: Knee pain following motor vehicle accident
Patient who was 5 months status post motor vehicle accident (MVA) continued to demonstrate improvements in knee range of motion (ROM) and improved end feel with knee flexion, following soft tissue mobilization (STM) to both calf heads as well as separation from hamstrings. Emphasis on nerve mobility to the posterior knee and techniques to reduce swelling have greatly improved knee mobility. After recently acquiring full weight bearing (WB) status, patient was able to tolerate anterior to posterior (AP) and medial glide of talus (ankle bone) in standing, allowing for improved ankle mobilization. Patient demonstrated improved tolerance of stair negotiation following treatment due to improve ankle alignment and weight acceptance.
